Robert L. Peters, CGD, FGDC
Robert is a graphic designer and founder/principal of the award-winning firm CIRCLE, the design consultancy he directed for 38 years. He is also a former president of Icograda (now ico–D, the International Council of Design); founding president of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, Manitoba Chapter; a foreign feature correspondent for Communication Arts magazine; former editor of the GDC Graphic Design Journal; and author of the book Worldwide Identity, published by Rockport. Robert has taught creative communications and design at Red River College and the University of Manitoba’s School of Art (as Chair of Graphic Design); was the recipient of the Koopman Distinguished Chair in the Visual Arts from the Hartford School of Art, University of Hartford; and served as Designer in Residence in the Visual Communication Design Department, Monash University, in Melbourne, Australia.
Robert is a humanist and lifelong environmentalist. Though retired from design practice in 2014, he remains active internationally as a consultant and design strategist, policy advisor, writer, juror, and guest lecturer. He was raised and schooled in Germany, Switzerland, and England, and has traveled extensively (more than 60 countries). For 35 years he has lived in a low-energy passive solar house that he designed and built in the woods of eastern Manitoba. When not immersed in art, design, or activism, he enjoys nature, mountaineering, and human-powered outdoor activities.

'Segun olude
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, ’Segun Olude attended Methodist Boys’ High School Lagos. After moving to Canada, Segun joined one of Winnipeg’s leading design firms in 1994, after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Graphic Design Major, from the University of Manitoba. ’Segun also holds a National Diploma in Fine Arts, from the School of Art, Printing and Industrial Design of well-known Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria. He completed all course work for the ISDP-MA at Syracuse University and graduated with an MFA in Graphic Design program at Vermont College of Fine Arts, Vermont, USA.
Currently, ‘Segun Olude runs a collaborative graphic design studio, Indigo Ink Studios, and teaches part-time as a Sessional Instructor at the University of Manitoba’s School of Art. His professional portfolio includes various editorial and magazine design, corporate identities, event branding, web design, commemorative postage stamps for Canada Post, and the event branding and collateral materials for TEDxWinnipeg since 2013.
‘Segun is involved in various professional and community organisations in Canada and participates in an annual non-profit, faith-based rural community development mission with his wife. 'Segun also teaches various professional development courses each year in Canada and Nigeria, including personal storytelling and visual presentations to high school students on immigration, integration and multiculturalism, through Historica Canada and Passages Canada.
